Don't get me wrong... I don't mean I come from a really poor family or anything of that sort in particular...
I'm quite happy to be able to be born into this family. :)
My parents may not be millionaires or super rich, but I must say they have did their best taking care of me these 22 coming 23 years.. Trying their best to buy things that I want more than need. As I grow older, they buy things that are more expensive for me. I must say my appetite for things have grown larger cos of them. I rmb wanting an iPod nano a few years ago, but only getting a 256Mb mp4 player cos my dad felt that I only needed that at that point of time. Then a few years later, on my 21st, I got this iPod touch which I'm using to type this entry. This year, I got a MacBook all cos I felt my laptop's giving me problems. Of cos, the money used to pay for the MacBook is on loan from my mom. So yes, I'm in debt. And I'm going on a holiday this december..
So yes, I was just wondering if I was born rich, how different would I have been? I have a hunch... That I will be more of a spendthrift than I am now. I would spend on a lot of things which I don't need but want? Lol! But I was hoping that I would be a better person than I am now. With money, it's true you can do a lot of things.. But i think with a heart and with money, you can do much more.. I was just looking at a kid next to me and was just wondering.. He's from my JC (and yes, I peeped at his belongings). He just received two letters for his parents to attend the commendation day for being the top for physics and making it into the JC1 dean's list. Somehow I could feel him taking quite a long look at it. It makes me wonder what he was thinking. He slowly put it back into his file and back into his bag. I looked at his bag... It's a little worn out. The brand couldn't really be seen. And I roughly formed an impression of his family finance situation (yes, I know I'm very stereotypical) but I guess I couldn't help it. I wondered is it true that sometimes family financial situations cause people to really do well/poorly in studies.
I guess... It's really the mindset, attitude and the upbringing? Though financial situations affect as well.. OK, I lost my train of thoughts...
